Join one of the fastest growing teams at UBC. Our team is composed of some of the best and brighest Engineering students, from Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together, get the opportunity to learn, grow, network, and utilize your engineering skills to become the best Engineer you can be. Our team is a tight knit group, which engages in extracurricular activities. As they say, we enjoy the happy times and work through the hard ones, together.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working closely with our leads to generate the actuation system for the fingers and wrist, generate a waterproof and dustproof enclosure for the hand via the use of composites, and specify and determine the placement of sensors which provide feedback to the user on various environmental objects and their properties, including geometry and rigidity.
As a software Engineer, you will be working with our software and signal section on generating the UI and UX for our hand's companion app, working with machine learning to classify new input data, and working with integrating voice control on our companion app. Preference will be given to applicants who have shown past experience in C++, HTML, Bootstrap, and UI & UX design.
As an control and signals engineer, you will be responsible for generating PCB schematics and functions in Python and Matlab to ensure that signals read from our various sensors can be interpreted correctly. Our Engineers are currently working on complex problems involving the use of FSR's, load cells, IR's, and capacitors.
As a member of the outreach team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the lifeblood of our team: sponsorship. Get the chance to network with some of the best companies in Vancouver as you promote us and learn how to manage finances, bill of materials, and our supply chain.
